Aloha Friends, so today is my birthday and what better way to spend it then exploring the beauty of our island. We left Ewa Beach early and headed towards north shore to check out the Waimea Falls. I’ve been wanting to go but something always comes up.
We got to Waimea Valley just as it was opening so parking was easy. I’d plan to go early before its starts getting hot. At the ticket counter we found out that every Wednesday kids are free. WOOT WOOT!!! You can’t beat that plus my military discount. $12 bucks for the win!!!
This place is amazing. If you love botanical gardens this is a place to check out Plan to spend the day exploring because there are so many paths to discover. This was the perfect place for the kids to explore. As we made our way down the paved path we came to a wonderful employee named Jessica who was preparing flowers to make leis
Jessica showed us how to make our very own leis from the flowers in the garden. I wish we had come prepared with cash because she deserved a tip for sure!! FYI bring CASH.
Once we finished we headed towards the falls but honestly we realized we were running out of time so we didn’t do much exploring after that. By the time we made it to the waterfall it was already 11am. I couldn’t believe the time had flown by. Another cool thing is they give you life jackets to wear for free but again tip is appreciated. I swear next time I will have cash because I felt bad lol.
It took the girls a few minutes to get in the water but once they got in they didn’t want to come out.
If you’ve been here tell me what your favorite thing was. As always if you know a fun place to explore or do here on the island of Oahu shoot me a comment below. Remember to sign up so you never miss an adventure. Mahalo from my family to yours.
