Aloha, welcome to the surf capital of the world! The beauty of North Shore attracts visitors from all over the world who are looking for awesome waves, good food and a relaxing atmosphere. North Shore has some of the best shaved ice on the island but don’t take my word for it. Check out the General Store and Matsumoto’s for some of the best shaved ice in Haleiwa. This cute town is full of charming shops, restaurants, and outdoor activities.
Stop in the town of Pupukea to watch the surfers take on the waves at Ehukai Beach Park during the winter months. What most people don’t know is summer brings families out to the beach to enjoy the calmer waters of north shore. You’ll see families dotted across the many beaches of north shore at any given time enjoying good food and warmer weather.
Another favorite stop is Giovanni’s Aloha Shrimp truck or what I like to call Food truck alley. This group of food trucks is located in a small town called Kahuku and everyone in the family is sure to find something to chow on. If you get there early enough they also have local Art vendors.
On the far west side of North Shore is a quite beach called Mokuleia Beach Park where you are bound to find lovely Sea Turtles but remember we don’t touch our wild life so please be respectful and remember the saying “Look but dont touch”!
Lastly, you will want to stop by the small town of Laie for a fun filled day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Learn about different island cultures by being transported back in time to experience what it was like to leave on the island. Each culture has its own traditions and ways so it is educational and fun for the whole family.
The island of Oahu has so many places to visit and North Shore is just the beginning. Get out and explore the island and enjoy
